You might not think about it that often but the gate in a fuzz circuit actually makes a big difference to the sound. This sets not only how long the note sustains for but also the response of the fuzz to your playing.
In the upright position the new gate switch on the side uses the stock gate circuit. In the middle it turns the gate up from stock and in the down position it lowers the gate compared to normal.
This is the kind of control you don’t think about until you have it on your pedal. Find what works for you and leave it there.
If you had to name one thing that was missing from most fuzz pedals I bet a lot of you would say an EQ section. A good mids control can really help you integrate it with your rig and find your sound.
So when given this pedal JHS upped the low mids out of the box and gave you a wide sweeping mids knob on the side so you can really find your tone in the pumpkin patch.
